A native of the Palmetto State, Steven was born in Sumter and has lived throughout South Carolina from the Low Country to the Midlands before settling his family right here in the beautiful Upstate. Steven graduated from Dorman High School and Wofford College before attending Mercer University School of Law. He clerked for The Honorable Judge Mark Hayes in Spartanburg, then moved to Charleston where he worked for two separate litigation firms with a state-wide caseload working in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, business litigation, construction law and general civil litigation.

In 2013, Steven (returned) and his wife moved to Spartanburg to be closer to family and he decided to go out on his own. Since starting the Epps Law Firm, Steven focused his practice to help clients take their best steps forward from car and other injury claims, criminal charges, construction related matters, and other legal concerns and problems.

Steven is an outdoorsman at heart and loves to hike, camp, and canoe, fish, and hunt when time permits.  He is an ordained deacon and elder in the Presbyterian (PCUSA) Church and serves on the Foothills Presbytery's Judicial Commission.  In 2021, Steven was the chair of Solo/Small Firm Section of the South Carolina Bar Association.
